Our 2026 Luncheon funds will be used to install Rampart radiation protection in at least one Cath Lab at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. Medical advances have created a double-edged sword - the imaging that helps create highly advanced life-saving cardiovascular interventions also has the dangerous side effect of creating radiation cancer in medical professionals working in the environment. The Rampart system is currently in two of the five Cath Lab rooms in Silverdale and the goal would be to expand it into all five rooms. It costs approximately $155,000 to install the system in each room. We are fortunate to partner with a private $108,000 donation to ensure that we can cover the cost for at least one more room.
